Spartan has been manufacturing lawnmowers since 2014. Each model year and series has distinct features. Whether you own a RZ, RT, SRT or another series, your mower has a unique serial number. Located on the frame, this serial number helps find the parts and accessories for your Spartan model.

Locating Serial Number on Spartan Lawnmowers

Spartan Mowers include a decal on the frame. The most common location is below the operator’s seat and fender on the left side. The decal includes information about Spartan, the date of manufacture and a complete serial number. Record this serial number when using parts look-up and purchasing accessories.

Understanding the Serial Number

Serial numbers include the model number, model year and unit number. Model numbers includes the model series code, deck size, engine CC and engine manufacturer code. Model year is represented by a single letter and unit numbers are located behind the model year. Since Spartan parts are often specific to model numbers and model years, finding this information within your serial number is important.

Spartan Serial Numbers will vary in length depending on model series and production year. The example below is a SRT-XD 61 IN Deck with Briggs & Stratton Vanguard EFI. Complete serial number is SSXD161993VEXLB047307

Serial Number Code Meaning

The model number is SSXD161993VE (Model Code + Deck Size + Engine CCs + Engine Manufacturer Code)

The model year is 2020 (Represented by L)

Model Series codes are:

SZCZ = RZC

SZH = RZ

SZPR = RZ-PRO

SZHD = RZ-HD

SRPR = RT-PRO

SRHD = RT-HD

SSP = SRT-PRO

SSHD = SRT-HD

SSXD = SRT-XD

STPR = KG-PRO

STXD = KG-XD

Model Year codes may be different than date of manufacture. The model year is found after engine manufacturer code. Model year is represented with a single letter:

E= 2014

F=2015

G=2016

H=2017

J=2018

K=2019

L=2020

M=2021

Engine Model number and specifications do not appear in Spartan serial numbers. Since these parts are supplied by the engine manufacturers, locate the complete model and serial number on the engine.
