Starting Your Mower After Winter Service

Starting you Mower After Winter Service

Spring is just a few days away. Although we perform a complete tune-up and test each mower before returning from winter service, please read this quick checklist to insure your mower is ready for the mowing season. If any part of this inspections fails, call us immediately to correct this issue.

Start with fresh fuel

We drain your mower and fill with fresh, stabilized fuel during winter service.

  • Dispose of any fuel you kept in containers from last season.

  • A simple method is to pour old fuel into your vehicle fuel tank.

Purchase fresh fuel from a high quality fuel station

Make sure your mower is ready before starting

Visually inspect all fasteners, cables, tires, and operator control levers

  • During transportation or storage some of these parts may shift

Check the engine oil level

  • We should all be in the habit of checking engine oil before each start

Before starting the engine, move the mower outside

  • The exhaust may be excessive on this first start

Start the engine on a flat, paved surface

  • Engage blade and self propel system/transmission

  • Listen for any surging, metallic noises or engine strain

Let the engine warm up

  • Before moving into the grass, let the engine run for a minute or two.

Our promise

Please test your equipment before it is time to mow. If there are any concerns, we want to address before the beginning of the mowing season. We will immediately correct any issues on your mower.
